Long Point Shuttle
 |
We like to say it's the best kept secret in town and really it still
is. If you haven't experienced the beauty of Long Point, you haven't
fully seen Provincetown and the tip of Cape Cod. The Cape hooks all the way
round, completely enclosing Provincetown Harbor and making it the sheltered
anchorage it is. |
At the very tip is Long Point Lighthouse and there are no roads, off-road tracks or bike trails to get there. Instead it's a tough three-mile plus hike from the far west end of town OR, just hop on one of our Coast Guard inspected pontoon boats for a 10-minute water ride to the point.
Every hour in high season and frequently in off season, our USCG licensed
captains will pick you up either from MacMillan Pier at the ferry terminal on the end of the pier. Right
in the very center of town or from our main dock at Flyer's Boatyard in the
West End. The specially adapted pontoon boats we use are able to pullright
up on to the beach near Long Point Lighthouse you won't even have to get
your feet wet!
You can bring a picnic and make a day of it or just come out to grab a
photo of the lighthouse and Provincetown from the water. First trip out is
10 in the morning and you can come back any ferry time later up to 5:20pm
in the evening. Long Point is the perfect spot for relaxing on an uncrowded
beach, having a picnic or beach party, surf and beach casting for striped
bass and bluefish. Long point is one of the best fishing spots for stripers and bluefish on Cape Cod. If you want to catch a monster striper from the beach this is the spot!

People ask us what's there? We say nothing that's the beauty of it. A beautiful beach on both the harbor and Cape Cod Bay/Atlantic sides of the point, the historic lighthouse and no crowds. Special sunset pickups for groups or earlier morning fishing parties can be arranged.
It's only $15 for a round-trip, or if you feel energetic enough to walk
one-way, it's $10 for one-way. We'll do one-way trips in either direction,
but if you want to do the walk, we recommend you go out with us and walk
back that way there's no chance of missing the last ferry home! Well-behaved,
leashed dogs are welcome at no extra charge.
We also offer a special multi-trip pass. It used to be open to residents only, but now we're offering it to everyone. So if you're here for a week, a month or all year round and you love it out there, it's well worth buying the six-round-trip pass for just $65 a $25 saving. Each pass may be used by one passenger only. Kids five and under ride free with each paying adult and from six to 12 it's $8 round-trip.
High Season Schedule: Leaves MacMillan Boston Ferry Terminal on the end of the pier on the hour 10am to 5pm. Leaves Flyer's Boatyard dock in the West End at 15 past the hour. For off-season schedule call 508-487-0898 ext 205 to confirm times.
